Days to recharge

This is what you'll find me doing on days where I just need a break to reconnect with myself and find new energy. Shamelessly having breakfast in bed with a bunch of magazines and comfy, cuddly socks. Yoga on my carpet before taking a long shower, then pampering my skin with DIY masks, mixtures and different oils. Catching up on blogs and videos while eating lunch and sitting by my computer. Fixing my nails, hair and watching tons of movies will most likely also be on my list.

What do you guys do on days like these?

I finally got my new camera!

I came home from visiting my family during christmas last afternoon and was SO happy to finally get my new Canon EOS 600D camera. Words can not describe my excitement, but sadly it was too dark to really test it and see what kinda pictures it can take, so I decided to wait until today and take a walk in a beautiful nature reserve.

I'm always amazed by how beautiful Denmark can be in winter time. The colors are so strong and vivid,
especially in contrast to the leaveless trees and grey skies.

I can now selfie much, much better hahaha. Although.. My computer is still getting fixed
so editing away undereye shadows has become a big deal now that I don't
have my beloved photoshop.

I love how crisp the photos are (I have to figure out how to make them crisp after uploading them to the blog too though). Sort of just wandered around for a few hours while trying out different functions and playing around with it. This is such an easy camera to use and it honestly does a lot of the work for you - I think it would be great for first time users. The only pictures I've edited are the ones of me, just to show what it can actually do.

It got pretty cold after a while (only 5 degrees here right now) so I went back home to read the rest of the latest Vogue, drink more cleansing tea, eat avocados and look through the photos. These are all just for me to get to know my new camera, but I just wanted to share with you guys anyway. I can't wait to completely change the mood of my blog. Happy sunday darlings!

10 Christmas favorites

Scented candles with deep, yummy scents of vanilla and chocolate. I'm loving the Tindra collection from IKEA. They've been burning in my room for almost two weeks and the smell never get's old or overwhelming. The cream colored one smells like waffles and vanilla ice cream, and I definitely need to restock soon.

I can't get enough of big, fluffy, faux fur pillows to cuddle up with while watching movies or reading blogs, it adds such a warm and cozy feeling to the room and helps you stay hot too. I bought a big pillow similar to the white one in IKEA and the colorful ones I found at Amazon.

Hot chocolate, lot's of it. It's really an essential for me during christmas time and I love how you can make it your own. Some favorite ingredients of mine: soy milk or almond milk, vanilla ice cream, cinnamon, chopped chocolate either white or very dark to sprinkle on top and even served with belgium waffle sticks on the side. Yum!

Christmas gift shopping! It's a perfect way of getting in the right christmas mood. I've personally been doing a lot of my gift shopping online this year (you're free from the hazzle of screaming children, too many people in the stores and having to walk around looking for just the right thing + you can sit inside with your fluffy fur pillows and drink hot chocolate!)

Allowing yourself to watch at least a few of your favorite holiday movies. Mine includes The Grinch, all the Home Alone movies and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Playing around in the magical first snow that, if you're lucky, sometimes fall in december. Winter wonderlands are amazing and even though getting hit by a snowball - yes this actually almost happened to my friends and I this weekend - going for a long walk and getting lost in the snow will always be an amazing thing.

Baking beautiful christmas treats, cakes and goodies. Christmas is the one time of year where I really allow myself to eat too many sweets and I've found a few really lovely vegan recipes that I'm going to try out. My littlebrother will be visiting next week before going on the grand family visiting tour, so I'm going to wait until next week with going bakery crazy. I'll be sure to post the recipes that I like on my blog.

Making the perfect playlist with all your favorite christmas and holiday songs to play for you and your family on christmas eve and the days before and after. If you're too lazy or don't have time to make your own, there are a ton of nice on already on youtube. Here's one paired with a fireplace video. Doesn't get much better than that, huh?

The perfect sweater. There is nothing better to wear in christmas time, and a sweater can do so many things. No matter if they're thick knitted, ripped, lavender or any chocolate/earth/cinnamon color or even raindeer printed, this is a must have for me. They don't even have to be ugly and christmas like.. But they can be. All sweaters picked at romwe.com and sheinside.com

Ah, the final, but not to be forgotten thing on my list - glögg. Also called mulled wine in english, is mostly, I think, a nordic christmas tradition that I remember drinking in both Germany, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. It's made by redwine, different spices and raisins and you drink it hot in the winter months! Everyone make it differently, and there's a ton of other ingredients you can add to make it more personal. I just need this for christmas, it kinda completes this whole month. Have any of you guys tried it? And what are some of your christmas favorites?

Food Diary - One week of random meals

I often get a lot of questions about what kind of food I eat, so this week I decided to keep a food diary and post random meals. This was actually really funny, so I might do it again if you guys don't find it totally boring, haha.

Monday afternoon,
one apple, one banana, one orange and a few slices of honeydew sprinkled with vanilla sugar + one tall glass of water.

Tuesday lunch,
I forgot breakfast so I was very hungry when I came home haha. Two pieces of  wholeweat bread with a tiny bit of sour cream on top, lemonpepper, dill and then boiled eggs with a little seasalt too. Also two big slices of honeydew with vanilla on top + one cup of chamomile tea with honey and soymilk, yum!

Wednesday breakfast,
Organic müsli with sliced apples, soymilk and a teaspoon of vanilla (I've been obsessed with vanilla this week, but I think it's because christmas is getting closer)

Thursday breakfast/lunch,
One tall glass of organic strawberry, apple and soymilk smoothie which was so yummy and very filling. I also had one avocado and two thick slices of pineapple.

Friday dinner,
Vegetarian mexican lasagna with loads of spinach, onions, salsa, tomatoes, spices, mornaysauce and enough cheddarcheese to feed a whole family!

Saturday dinner,
Pasta with tofusauce, onions, garlic, chopped chilipepper, canned tomatoes and a ton of different spices. I forgot to take any photos of today since I'm hungover, but I ate some more of this pasta dish when I came home in the morning and after sleeping a few hours, my roomie brought home pizzaaaa!

So.. Yep. Random meals from this week.
Any of you guys eat similar stuff?

The 30 day squat challenge

Okay guys, so as you will hear in todays video, I just started the 30 day squat challenge, and I think you should do it with me if you feel like it! I believe this challenge was made famous by Kim Kardashian a while back, and so today I took some before shots of my butt that I will post along with some after shots when the 30 days are over.

The schedule is pretty straight forward and the first 50 squats weren't too hard to do at all. Below I will link a squat tutorial for you guys, so go go go!

Yummy mixed salad & homemade dressing

I have been eating waaay too much dark bread the past few days so my tiny hangover made me crave real food. I pretty much emptied the fridge for ingredients and now I'm pretty much too full to move. What I used -

A handful fresh kale, some pea shoots, two tomatoes, one red oninion, the tip of a red chili pepper, half an apple, one garlic and some pepper.

For the dressing I mixed mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, some garlic, pepper, chilli, paprika and then I squeezed some lemon in too. Not very healthy, but much needed before getting ready for tonight!

Easy, lazy sunday food!

Whole wheat tortilla bread, tomato, cucumber, lot's of onion, spinach, garlic, cheese, taco sauce and spices - so easy, but so yummy and perfect for lazy sundays! I ended up going out with my friend Maja who's a writer last night. We went to a few bars on Nørrebro and it got pretty late before I went home, but finding my way around Copenhagen is getting a lot better! I was supposed to be productive today, but.. You know.

Chill saturday

I've had absolutely no plans this weekend - besides work tomorrow, yay more money for moving - and it's also been waaaay too hot to do anything productive. It hit me how crazy the past two months have been and how much partying I've been doing, ughh my body must hate me haha! So today has been spent finding new inspiration, sipping chai tea, eating nuts and reading more in the Hamburger bible the chef lend me, which by the way might be my new favorite book. It feels like sunday, and that's a-okay..

I'm also trying to mentally prepare myself on finally moving to Copenhagen. It's something I've been wanting to do for the past six years and now it's finally happening!

Yummy lunch

Today for lunch I had two slices of dark bread with hummus, cucumber, tomatoes, some almonds and a cup of vanilla chai latte - so yummy! My body is still sore after yesterday's run, I'm making small progress but I still haven't found a routine yet. My weight has been like a rollercoaster the pasyt few weeks because of too much alcohol and bad food, so I'm working on getting back into a more healthy lifestyle again :)

Are you guys enjoying the summer? It's been purrrfect here!

Getting fit

The past two years have been sort of life changing for me and I've come to know myself and my values a lot more. After too many years with too much alcohol, cigarettes and really unhealthy habits I just sort of naturally got sick of it all. I used to be super fit all my childhood and early teenage years, I have been a dancer for years, I was super athletic and very flexible back then, and I want it back. When I was 11 or 12 I could easily run 10 km. in 45 minutes, and it really felt great. So no more just sitting around waiting for some kind of motivation to kick me in the ass, I'll take matters into my own hands now! : D

I've started using the Nike running app and went for a slow run/powerwalk this afternoon and the weather was great so I ran/walked almost 8 km. in the sun. Took me around an hour but I'll start doing this a few times a week until I can actually run 5 km. without getting a heart attack.
I looked like a tomato in my face when I got back home as shown above haha.

Ultimate current personal goal - to run 10 km. in 45 minutes like when I was younger.
(and dont worry, this wont turn into a fitness blog, I'll just update whenever
I make progress that I'm proud of)
